“A guided meditation is an opportunity to look deeply into the mind, to sow wholesome seeds there, and to strengthen and cultivate those seeds so that they may become the means for transforming the suffering in us”

Guided imagery and meditation

Guided imagery is a focused practice that involves each of the five senses to ignite positive healing messages throughout the mind and body. The practice is interchanged with visualization and guided meditation.

By releasing physical tension held in the body, this practice can help release worries buried in the mind, easing anxiety, stress and low mood, and even helping you get deeper, more restful sleep.Guided imagery can also bring a sense of calm that enables us to respond to life events in a measured way, rather than reacting with our emotions.

In my practice I introduce guided visualisation as a way of managing difficult emotions, helping people relax or simply to introduce the benefits of going on a pleasant journey in your mind and body.

The following FREE recordings are a combination of my favourite visualisations, common relaxation techniques and scripts and my own creations influenced by training in Hypnotherapy and mindfulness.

Guidance:

Do not listen to these recordings whilst driving or engaging in an activity that requires your attention.

Set aside some time and find a place you won’t be disturbed. Settle into a comfortable position somewhere that feels comfortable and warm.

Each meditation will begin with muscle relaxation and breathing guidance to help relax the body and ease it into a state of calm and restfulness and end with guided imagery.

Resource tapping

Resource tapping is a simple and easily learned offshoot strategy of EMDR. It helps you access your innate healing resources and is helpful for a number of issues or to simply improve your overall wellbeing.

I use resource tapping regularly with clients in my counselling and EMDR sessions to support their wellbeing and the following FREE recordings are some of the most common resource tapping examples I use.

Guidance

Do not listen to these recordings whilst driving or engaging in an activity that requires your attention.

Set aside some time and find a place you won’t be disturbed. Settle into a comfortable position somewhere that feels comfortable and warm.

If at any point during the exercise you become upset or overwhelmed, stop the activity and engage in appropriate self care and/or seek out support.
